Construction Management

Construction management is the management of the physical construction process within the built environment and includes the co-ordination, administration, and management of resources. The Construction Manager is the one point of responsibility in this regard.

Construction Project Management is the management of projects within the built environment from conception to completion, including management of related professional services. The Construction Project Manager is the one point of responsibility in this regard.

Building and Human Settlement Development

The Building and Construction Industry is a dynamic industry with many opportunities for dedicated, self-motivated and hard-working persons. The Industry is becoming more technically sophisticated and computerised with a resultant growing demand for suitably trained professional people.

Human settlement managers are needed to manage policies, processes and systems and co-ordinate stakeholders with the aim of developing human settlements in an integrated and sustainable manner.

Quantity Surveying

Quantity Surveyors control the ‘money’ for their clients in construction projects – they are experts in dealing with all financial matters related to a building project, from start to finish.

They are mainly responsible for estimating the cost of a new building, calculating the materials and labour used in a building, preparing tender and other legal documents, estimate the value of work done at various stages of the contract, i.e. controlling all costs while a building is being built.
